Information about Armored Tactical Vehicles (ATVs):
The
ATV is an emergency response vehicle designed to provide protection for
police emergency response teams. This medium-sized, maneuverable, four
wheel drive tactical vehicle meets National Institute of Justice (NIJ)
Level III (7.62 x 51 M80, ball).
In
addition to the driver and passenger seats, the ATV comes standard with
rear seating for six officers. The ATV comes equipped with five doors
and driver controlled electric locks for quick and easy exit and
entrance from multiple directions. Five single hand operation gunports
built into each exterior door offer the ability to return gunfire
without being exposed.
The
ATV has a roof top mounted AC/Heater that will keep team members
comfortable during long operations and provides an area to rehabilitate
after the threat has been neutralized.
The
standard lighting and warning package offered with the ATV consists of
two front flashing grill lights and headlight flasher along with two
rear flashing lights. Each vehicle comes with a standard 100 watt
siren/PA with the speaker mounted under the vehicle's front bumper. Cab
operated scene lights mounted on the left, right and rear of the vehicle
provide area lighting during night operations.
The
ATV can be custom painted. Logos or lettering can be applied.
The
ATV is designed to provide Police Departments with a reliable,
maneuverable and cost-effective way of dealing with threats against the
public while providing its occupants with ballistic protection.
