General Specifications:
Transparent Armor (Glass
areas):
Replace the OEM glass in the windshield and all side glass.
Glass will be removed and replaced with curved
bullet-resistant transparent armor multi-layer glass and
polycarbonate inner layer to prevent spalling upon ballistic
impact. The transparent armor will be contoured to retain
the appearance of the original glass. Rather than curved
glass replacing the OEM glass in the rear hatch, which adds
a significant amount of weight to the rear hatch; a piece of
flat ballistic glass will be mounted in the top-half of the
rear compartment just ahead of the rear hatch, which will
open to allow access to the rear compartment of the vehicle.
This design offers superior ballistic protection and reduces
the risk of accidental breakage from the rear hatch slamming
down too hard. All glass will be tinted to match OEM tint
unless otherwise specified.
Body:
Doors, pillar posts, side panels, kick-panels, firewall, and
headers, cargo area, rear wheel arches, rear cargo doors
will all be armored with ballistic steel in accordance with
defined standard of defeat. Elitus® overlap system around
each window will be used throughout the vehicle to ensure
complete protection
Roof:
Armored with Armormax® ballistic composite material or
ballistic steel in accordance with the appropriate standards
IAC Level 5 protection at a 45 degree angle of attack.
Sunroof if on vehicle will be rendered inoperable.
Floor:
The floor will be protected by using a blanket of
light-weight, multi-ply, laminated, semi-flexible, ballistic
fragmentation material (Armormax® PAC100), molded to form
fit contours of floorboards and panels. This protection
level exceeds a defeat level of a 45-85 gram fragmentation
traveling 2,000 fps. German DM51 or US M-67 grenade
explosion fragment velocity = 950 fps.
Vehicle Structured
Modifications:
Reinforcement of pillar posts and hinge mounts, high
pressure heavy duty shocks, and suspension upgrades as
required to maintain original appearance and maneuverability
to include: HD torsion bars, HD sway bars, high tension leaf
springs and polyurethane bushings as required and as
available.
Door Modifications:
Internal reinforcements will be added to the doors to
support the additional armor weight added. Door hinges will
be reinforced. Overextension stop-straps will be installed
to protect the door hinges from over-extension. Hardened
plastic door risers installed on all doors to support closed
doors at rest, as required. Access panels for replacing door
handles will be included.
Fuel tank:
Ballistic fragmentation blanket will be applied to fuel tank
to suppress potential explosions.
Fuel System:
Locking Fuel Cap – if required.
Electronic Control Module (ECM)
will be armored to protect the engine’s computer.
Battery:
Original replaced with an Optima® bullet-resistant battery.
Exhaust System:
Wire mesh tailpipe protection will be added to prevent any
objects from being inserted into the tail pipe(s) of the
vehicle.
Bumpers:
Front and rear bumpers will be reinforced (hidden) to allow
for “ramming” one’s way out of a boxed in situation.
Wheels and Tires:
(5) Hutchinson Run flat tire devices will be mounted on “E”
rated heavy-duty tires to allow driving even if the tires
are deflated.
Operable Window(s):
Driver side window will operate down to 6 inches to allow
external communications, passing of documents at check
points, etc.
Siren / Strobe lights / PA
System /External Listening System included.
