Are
You Prepared? Our Oxygen Inhalators are easy to use in emergency
situations.
CPR
without supplemental oxygen is only 4.6% successful if performed
correctly. Without oxygen brain cells begin to die within
two minutes, after four minutes the major portion of the brain is
dead. Average ambulance response time is 8 to 12 minutes.
Oxygen
immediately begins to halt and reverse the deleterious effects of
shock to the brain and the other major vital organs. Breathing
exhaled air into someone else's lungs cannot correct shock.
Shock can lead to death of an individual in a medical emergency.
Supplemental
Oxygen should be used during Cardiopulmonary Emergencies as soon as
it is available. Rescue breathing (CPR) will deliver only
about 16% to 17% oxygen to the victim, (34% is considered to be
the minimum therapeutic concentration) It is recommended that
100% inspired oxygen be used during BLS (basic CPR) and ACLS. Jama: 10/92
